b16 2nd gen in 93 civic ex won't rev over 2,000 rpm
Ok, I am about to flip out. First I had my map sensor and egr valve switch so i couldn't rev over 1500 now i fixed that and i cant rev over 2,000. Is this a IAC valve error. Its killing me. the swap is all done put i cant rev. Any ideas. need help asap. I am using stock wire harness outta the ex

code 36 is: TCFC signal, for the Traction Control System (TCS) it is a soft code, only when your short the service check connector.
But i don't have tcfc so thats 1 less error now

The TPS sensor is real sensitive. Have you noticed how its adjustable like a distributor? well, try to keep the TPS sensor centered when screwing the 2 bolts down that hold it in place. Try to see if you can match the bolts up to the dirt outline of how the bolts were orginally (if that makes sense). If the TPS is to far angle to the left or right, it throws a code/hissy fit and your car's throttle response gets retarded...

Ok, so i decided to play with the TP sensor some more. It makes no difference in how the engine is running either with it plugged in or without it plugged in. So i am assuming that the tp is the problem. Are my assumptions correct? Also, it is idling at like 1500 rpms is that IAC ?? Finally its over heating like a mother almost in the red, and all its doing is sitting on jack stands. I did take a brand new 93 ex thermostat I had and stuck in it. It was the same size and everything so I figured it would work, was I wrong? Please help I need my car. hehe, not having a vehicle really sucks

ahh haaa... so you haven't bled your coolant system eh ?
This happend to me long ago. Try bleeding the air out of your cooling system, then your car should run at normal temp and the idle will probably come down as well.

yea, i just thought of that after i posted that. idle is still around 1,000 but much better. I wish it would idle correctly without jumping all around. So I can time it alittle better.
