SkidPad
Does anyone know how many G's a stock 5th Gen will pull in the skidpad? I did a search of this site and po.com and came up pretty much empty. Im sure Car and Driver or Road and track published the number when they did a write up on the 5th Gen in 97, but I cant find it anywhere.

I think an explanation of WHY is in order. My CRX got a 1.01 on 40Series Falkin tires, about $1,500 in suspention upgrades and 16" wheels.
The skid pad allowed me to dial-in my suspention settings

The Prelude got an .88 on the skidpad and ran 66mph through the slalom in Motortrend. And they expected the numbers to be higher with different tires.
In one comparison Car & Driver got a .84 with the Prelude, which was only second to the Celica GT-S which only got an .86. But I'm pretty sure I saw them get a .89 once.
Either way, those aren't bad numbers and they can be easily improved with a different set of tires.
In a review I read a while ago a WRX got a .84. So that the STi or Lancer Evolution has more grip is no surprise, particularly when you can be sure they put tires on those cars with a lot more grip.
If the Prelude had come with nice summer tires I'm sure those figures would have been considerably higher.
