I'm planning on doing a LS/VTEC shortly.I have a 90' LS block I wanted to use CTR pistons bored .20 over.I will be using either a B16 or ITR head with CTR cams.The head will not be milled any and I will be using an OEM 3-layer head gasket.I'm just wondering what the compression will be.I've heard 13.1 from about every person I talk to about it.I just want to find out for sure before I do this.
mod for mod, that is my set up.
i also calculated 12:1 static.
im still breaking it in but if you would like ill post my compression (psi) numbers when i get them. for comparisons sake.

its .25mm over though, not .20

Heres a link to c-speedracings compression calculator. Excellent sourch for computing!

11.973719167158128 = about 12.1

we put type r pistons in a ls block with tyre r head and calculate 11.8:1
and with civic type r pistons(dome cc of 6.7),it calculates to almost 13:1
The dome of 2001 type r pistons calculates out to plus 4 cc
Just thought i would share our actuel experiences with you .
You can read all you want ,but we actually did the calculations.
Just to be sure the formula was right,we changed the strock back to a B18c5 instead of B18b,and with plus 4 cc dome the result were 10.6.
That is exactly the compression of a stock type r motor(2001)
