you have to remove the valve cover and totally replace the stud. It doesn't take long, just go buy 2 or 3 replacement studs just incase you snap more.

ok i have the cover off. do i need to remove the hole plate that is over cam to get stud out?? and would it be ok if i drove to the acura dealer with that bolt not tightend??

just take a 12mm deepwell and remove the stud. YOu do not have to remove a cam cap.
Well, I'd sugget using another car to drive to the Acura dealer. lol

Highly unlikely even though I have no clue what checkers is other than a Burger joint down here. lol
I am not sure if you can drive around with that stud missing. There'll be a hole/gap in the valve cover were oil might leak out.
Call a friend. I'd mail you some of mine but I'm over an hour's drive from my house. Try PMing LEN see if he can next day air you the parts. Tell him Eric/P1mpSlap sent you.

you can drive with one broken, I did. just drive to acura and pick one up, I would call them first because when I needed mine they had to order it for me and I got it the next day. when you put your valve cover on put on some thread locker because those nuts are notorious for coming loose. and when you tighten the studs only go hand tight, or if you have a inch\lb torque wrench use that.
its ok bro i spoke to my roomate, hes gona get off work early and give me a ride to the acura dealer. thanks for the offer tho. im gona buy 2 oe 3 of them just in case and also get a new valve cover gasket i was gona use the old 1
you seriously can safely drive it. i even called acura when I snapped mine because I was paranoid about it and they said sure. just don't forget about it and never fix it.
As for the valve cover gasket, you can reuse your old one if its in good shape.

I think they're like $5 each...? It's been a while since I've broken the first one.
Altho, buying a few is insurance....it's probably not gonna be insurance for you doing it again. You usually learn after the first time. Sell them to your friends at 200% your cost.
Changing the grommet nuts helps quite a bit b/c they sometimes snag and seize when removing the nuts. That's how I broke my first one...loosening, not tightening.

you drive with it broken or you drive with it out?
I am pretty sure he's already removed the stud, so there would be a hole in the valve cover and potential oil leak. I know you can drive with it broken. I've done it myself. lol
But yeah, it's always good to have a few of those on hand.

ok i put the broken stud back in and drove to the dealer and back. there was maby a tablespeen of oil on the bottom of the hood. part was 6$ thanks guys
I drove with it broken but still in there. If I were in his position I would put back in what's left of the stud and drive over. There's 7 other ones holding the valve cover on so a quick ride shouldn't hurt.
o ya i oly got 1 because its all they hade. i did notice that the acura dealer carys tons and tons of spoon ands comptech parts now they evin had some ebotch springs for sale

yeah, the honda dealer in Morrow,GA is a distributor for AJ Racing so they stock hella Spoon stuff. I think they are getting a Spoon Engine to put on display soon enough.
