Code 7 how do I fix?
I got code seven from the ecu. I finally got around to checking the codes. How do I fix code 7? Throttle Angle? I had to use the TPS from the DX but I still swaped the wires around? Is that why I'm getting code 7?
did you recalibrate the TPS ? whats your idle and WOT voltage values ?
I take it you're doing a swap of some sort , but you failed to give half the information required...

How do you recalibrate the TPS? I did a MPFI swap and the TPS on the MPFI Mani had a broken TPS so I swaped it with my DX one. Is that whats causing the porblem? I dont know how to get my voltage values for idle or WOT. I just test the circuit and its at 5v.
Check the bottom two wires on the TPS. Stick a couple of pins into the TPS connector and do it that way rather than removing the wires from the connector. With the TPS closed it should read 0.45V with the middle wire being + and the bottom being -. At WOT it should be about 4.5V. You recalibrate the TPS by spinning it slightly on the throttlebody.
Good luck getting it adjusted correctly though! Advance it too much and you'll be overfueling - the ECU will never think the throttle is closed and idle will run rich and the car won't want to engine brake. Keep it retarded too much and the car will be jerky at part throttle because the ECU won't know the throttle is cracked and so it will think the car is idling high + cut fuel.

what do you mean by that?

If you read above I give a description of how it drives if it's retarded or advanced, but that's only if you're not getting the code... with the code, it should drive normally no matter how it's installed. Hmmm.... if I were you I'd pull the ECU cover and test the wires @ the ECU. Make sure the signal's getting all the way from the TPS to the computer.
Ok, I figured out the problem. One of the clips on the inside where the tps and throttle body meet broke off. I put the tps back and made sure the tps grabbed the throttle and once that was done I checked voltage and bam. no check engine light. You guys made my day. Thanks a bunch for all your help and guidance!! Also thanks to raene for sticking with me untill I fixed my car.

yeah , should read .45(idle) and 4.5(WOT)

damn!!!! one problem after the other. I took it for a test drive and everything was cool. I think the car is running even more rich. I hear light popping sounds, often. And also when I go through the gears, i let off the clutch but the rpms pause for a second then makes its way down. my reading was .47 at idle. Any ideas? I know the belt is not off because I didnt get to the camshaft swap yet. Maybe i have a defective tps?
You're running the TPS too advanced. Whatever you're using for a voltmeter is inaccurate - I know mine is inaccurate also (that's why I said good luck getting it adjusted right). Just retard it a smidgen and keep testing it and driving it until it 'feels right'.

I just finished my MPFI swap and I too am getting a CODE 7 (Throttle angle), but here's the situation. It's a new TPS sensor, and it's wired properly, switched wires, all that... but I am getting this code and the car won't even start!!!! This is the only code I am getting. Would this be the same problem??? Need help asap!! Thanks guys!
