OK..I'll 'try to make this short.

Apexi ITR bought a JDM ITR engine, tranny, ecu etc and put it in his 92 civic hatch.
I have the JDM final drive in my car so we decided to see if everything was the same.

When he is in 4th gear at 5000 rpms hes doing 75 mph.
When Im in 4th gear at 5000 rpms Im doing 63 mph.

He says the guy who he bought the engine from swears up and down its all JDM. The block says B18C on it and there is
P73 stamped on it in several places. Was there different gearing on JDM models like maybe from the 96 spec ITR?
OR does he have the USDM gearing???

Ooopss...I didn't read that you both were in 4th gear...

Let me check specs on tranny for you...

I do have the GS-R 5th gear....thats why why did this check in 4th gear....
My 5th gear lowers my ration back down to normal USDM specs so i can still get some what good gas mileage
on the highway...it has nothing to do with my 1st thru 4th gears...all those are JDM spec.

1st: 3.230

Your tach could be off... How about both rolling at 75 mph and see who has what rpm...

Do either/ both of you have something more accurate? Like a vafc? that'll give a more accurate rpm indication...

something is weird, though. Does his tranny say lsd on it?

 

TJ - the gearing ratio should be on the BM vdo. Also, hurrell told me that he's car might not be running true at this time. I don't think that'll effect the rpm speed though.

Well, im not sure what the deal is with Hurells tranny but I know all things aside, my gearing/ final drive is different
then his...obvisouly my final drive is higher since im running a lower mph at the same rpm.

Cosworth: I will order the 2 door handles for you as soon as our computers get back running...they are down right now...not sure why but were working on getting them back running.

You want the 2 black RS door handles, one screw for the door handle and one screw for the front lip correct? I cant get you an exact price right this second until the computers are back up but Im thinking about $10-$12 plus tax

 

Yes, sir. That is correct. 2 door handle bezzles + 1 screw for the bezzle + 1 screw for the chin spoiler.

 

Obviously if he had a 98spec trans then both of you in
5th gear would yield the same results seeing as how
the 98spec has a gsr 4th adn 5th gear to go with the
shorter FD. 4th gear is a really bad comparison since
you will have the shorter gearing.
