Default 98 LS, LS/Vtec - Type R swap - or Fi?

Hi. I personally don't have an 98 LS, my friend does. He really wants to upgrade his car and drive faster but he's not willing to put that much effort into research cause he's not really an car fanatic he just likes cool cars and driving fast. Anyways, I thought I'd be a friend and help him find out some information.

So, I do believe he has a 98 LS. He's pondering either a LS/VTEC conversion, a JDM Type R engine swap, or FI.

What kind of cost and hp/tq would he get from these setups?
Which route do you guys think he should go?

Thanks for the help!

you could do the classic setup... rims, i/h/e, and a system, after u drop your car... this is pretty much the route everyone, that doesn't know about cars, follows. then you'll probably get a camber kit because you want to save your tires, some shocks cause ur dope looking dropped car doesn't ride right. after your first mods you might turn into a car enthusiat, that too, was how alot of us started.... corrected me if i'm wrong anyone...

Unless he does his own research he will have a shitty setup that will most likely blow up... like all the other dumb ricers. You gotta learn about cars if you wanna mod your teg to make it fast, else sell it and buy a car that is fast from the factory. There is no middle ground when it comes to FI and LS/VTEC, its all or nothing. Stick to a Type R motor/tranny if you want OEM reliability and hassle free maintenance, but want a decent performance boost.
