ok...battery light went on.....changed the battery........light still goes on......changed alternator......light is still on..


this is where the plot thickens...

there's a 4 prong green plug that goes into the alternator...when i unplug it...

the battery light goes offf....when i plug it in ...the light goes on..

it gets better

when i plug it in.......the alternator makes noise...
unplug.....no noise..

so i got another alternator......just to see if somethings wrong with that alternator.....nope......same thing on the other alternator..

so whats the deal.......is there a relay i can check or fuses or something..

and whats up with the noise thing ...its like an old door opening sound but a lot faster .......very high pitch.....eekk eeek....

Did you change the belt?

 

Could be 2 bad alternators in a row.

Are you buying remanufactured alternators? I bought 1 alternator from autozone that lasted about a week, and another that was fine but whined very bad.

Do you have a volt meter at disposal? Did you add anything recently? Power cap, big amp?

 

yeah...i did just chage the belt...and now its happening....a simply belt change and the light goes on??

added an amp...but that was months ago.....

so there's nothing like a relay i can check.....

oh yeah....is there a difference betweeen alternators on B series cars...

lets say LS and GSR
