Default b16 problems

i just installed my motor like i said in my last post on my vtec to ecu problems.. well i finally found out how to install it and a homie from hmo sent me the instructions and what i'm missing was my vtec oil pressure line and the vtec solenoid line. well now i just have a question about all you ef owners with a b16 swap.. okay here's my problem.. i don't have my vtec hooked up unfortunately and i drove it around a bit for the first time.. my exhaust is unbolted from the cat and on, and the first thing i noticed was my smog... too much black smoke.. grrr.. and when i tried flooring it from first gear, as soon as the rpms passed 3-4 thousand, my car bogs crazy.. so maybe i'm thinkin' too much fuel eh?? or could it be that my vtec isn't hooked up? or maybe i just need to break in my motor.. or is it because it's not corked... please reply to this asap!

it could be running rich due to not having the o2 sensors hooked up right, but I wouldn't worry about that black smoke yet. Who knows how long that poor motor sat around. I hope you changed all the fluids.

Do this first, then get back to us. Too many things that COULD be the problem.
