Which oil filter?
I read the posts from a couple weeks back about the change in oil filters Acura made. Supposedly the Type R should use the smaller ones...the filter used for the RSX, right?
Anyways, I went to Acura today to pick some up, but when I read the side of the filter it said "FRAM." If i remember correctly, these filters suck! Also, they wanted $7.50 per filter.
I used PureOne filters in the past, but I'm worried they filter so much they don't work well with the VTEC oil pressure system.
So...what's the final verdict on the best (and economic and easy to find) oil filter for the Type R which will work well with the oil pressure of VTEC ??
Thanks!!

honda acura says to use the small filter for all applications (accord, civic, tegs, crv etc) except for the S2000, which still uses the 'older' style.

the S2000 oem oil filters are "made in japan" by Toko Roki (15400-PCX-004). it is the larger size oem filter. the smaller oem honda that is made by fram is of better quality than its radioactive orange counterpart.

according to the pic provided in my previous post, the blue filter on the left is an oem honda made by fram. the orange filter on the right is a fram. the blue filter is superior than the orange one in three respects: anti-drain back valve, end caps, and bypass valve.
the "made in japan" oem filter is not pictured in the link you provided. it can be seen in the link provided: http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/f...shtml. scroll down to honda (made in japan) to see pics of the S2000 filter.

Not quite right....until now, the S2K (PCX) filter was not available in the USA....it is not the "older style" filter, but a completely different one. The PCX is the toyo roki...
Oh, and who posted it first?
