Replacing Brake calipers on an ABS Integra
I was reading through my haynes manual, and it said that to bleed the brake system in ABS-equipped cars, you need to have a special tool and have a shop do it. Problem is, I don't have the time or the money to have a shop do it. I need my car back ASAP, and I have just enough money to buy the calipers and pads. Can anyone shed any light on this situation?
Anytime you crack a brake line open you will need to bleed the brakes to make sure you do not have air in the lines or else your car will brake like crap.
no lol I know that, I know how to bleed the brakes, but in my manual it says you need a "special tool" to bleed the brakes on an ABS-equipped car. What "special tool" do I need? Can i do this myself?

Ahhh I see, I can't think of any special tool but then again all my cars are non-ABS...

First, the ABS bleeder screw is hidden down low in the engine compartment. The first special tool is a long skinny thing that opens the bleed screw, and has a hose & reservoir built in, so the ABS bleeds into this tool instead of dripping all over.
The second special tool is an electrical hookup to make the ABS motor run when you want. On my Integra you can run the motor by turning the ignition on & off.
