Question about rattling sound after I installed the Apex N1...
I had my Apex N1 Catback/JDM Header/AEM CAI installed like 2 days ago, and when I am at idle there is a loud rattling sound as if something is touches causing something to rattle against eachother.. ANyone had this problem and know what to do?
if you remove the heat shield, make sure the brake lines aren't exposed. Prolly not a good idea to heat up those lines.
i had a rattle with my apex..it was coming from the rear exhasut section..the rubber hangers were worn out and causing it to have to much freedom to jump around..hope this helps..even if your car is new..while running check under the car.and try and pinpoint were the sound is coming from..that would help us out a little more..

check to make sure your shifter isn't hitting the exhaust as well. i'm not particularly familiar with your platform, but that's a common problem with most of the cars i work on
I have a Spoon header, carsound cat, and Apex N1 on my R.... all of my rattles came from the heat sheilds above the s pipe on my exhaust...I just removed them and havent had a problem since.
try looking right where the axle back hooks up, its probably the hanger.. when i got my mugen exhaust it did the same thing. went and got the hanger bent and that was the end of that..good luck.. mugen
The common place for the N1 to hit is at the connection of the A pipe (straight) to the B pipe (S shaped). The place where thise two bolt together will be extremely close to the heat shield that is there. Just take a scewdriver and bend the heat shield back a little bit. I also have a Spoon Header, high-flow cat, and Apex N1 and that is the only place that I ever had contact.
Good Luck.
