which msd ignition coil for 5th gen lude??
There isn't one. The clip that runs to the stock coil won't clip onto the MSD coils. You have to run a few wires to make it work, but it isn't hard.

stick with stock. aftermarkets burn to hot and will loose hp. and yes i re wired a stock ignition coil on the dyno on a ls/vtec and picked up 2.5 to 3.5 hp accross the board over an msd.
only reason i want to replace is because my stock one has a big crack along the plastic housing of the ignition coil...and i am missing like 30whp
(98 turbo prelude f-max kit dynoed tuned at 5psi 180whp 160wtq)
and i think it might be faulty or better yet not powerful enough coil??
what do ya'll think???

so basically i should get the stock one...would this be a wise choice even if i am going to build-up and boost at 15psi???
will the stock coil be powerful enough for 15psi???

possibly not. i dont deal with a whole lot of FI. i am an all motor fan but i do know that the stock ignition will begin to break up around 320 to 350 whp but i do recommend at that point to get a stand aloe with individual coils and not just a msd box and coil. thats all i can tell you. but either way stay away from the msd's and cranes's ignition systems.
If you want to push 15psi I would recommend running the MSD HVC coil.
A lot of B series guys on the board run stock ignitions and can crank out over 400whp. But as for the H series, I ran into problems with the stock ignition/coil at 330whp on my old set-up.
If you need a stock coil, i have an extra one from a obd1 h23a motor in my garage. I am not sure if it is compatible with the h22a one though...
