Default HELP! my brake pedal goes down to the floor!

hey guys, last night i was drivin, and suddenly my pedal goes down to the floor. not instantly but it goes down slowly, and the car doesn't stop very well.

my first thought was air in the system, so we bleeded it today, and drove and it still did it. its on a 92 integra non abs. anyonne know the problem, i think its the brake master cylinder, but i'm not sure... i wanna be sure before i shell out 100 bux for the master cylinder...

thanks!

If there's a leak anywhere else, you'll see a puddle of brake fluid somewhere. And the level in your reservoir will drop.

It can leak thru the piston shaft, into the vacuum booster. But that doesn't really cause the pedal to sink.

I really think it's a bad master cylinder.

Check for fluid around your brake pedal and the firewall for an MC leak, as thats what it sounds like.

Its your master for sure. Same thing happened to me. Get it fixed with the quickness.

how long do you think it would take to drop, if it were a pinsize hole? is there anyway to make sure its the master before i replace it?

u better go for osme further testing on the highway. a good way to check for poor breaks is to up to around 125-130 and the swing onto an off-ramp. You will definitely know if they work after that

$100? Where the heck are you getting it from? Non-abs MC's only set you back about $50. ABS is around $80...
