My mini me 1/4 times...correct or awful?
wow, okay, so...i know when doing the mini me swap, theres the oil feed plug between cylinders 2+3 that your sposed to yank out to activate vtec...now, i bought the car with a mini me swap in it..and im not to sure if the people knew what they were doing when they were putting the motor together. What it is is a 95 dx hatch with a d15b7 with a z6 head, AEM cai, stock exhaust all the way back and a stock p28 ecu. I decided to run it at the track to see what kind of times it would pull, and heres how it went...
rt - .568
60 ft - 2.485
1/4 et - 16.9
1/4 mph - 79.5
Is this right for my motor, or do you think that the oil plug was never taken out..thanx a lot for the help, im kickin myself in the *** over this

it seems a little high, but there are other factors involved. your 60 ft time is a little high, which could set your time back a little bit. ive seen other people with similar engines (mini-me's or d16z6/y8, which are all roughly similar in hp output) in dx's run like mid 15's, but they had a few more mods done. overall i think that your setup should be runnin at least low 16's. just outta curiosity, what track did u go to- im pretty local and was wondering where people went around here.
my friend with a cx gutted hatch with a carbon fiber intake, dc sports header, a test pipe, a apex i n1, and B&m short throw ran 16.3. His car weighs 2000 lbs w/o driver,. and he weighs like 200. oh yeah that is on hx rims with **** tires. and like a stage 2 clutch.

its your tranny. Get a 92-95 si or ex tranny or 96-00 ex tranny. Your gearing will be way shorter. Your gears now are way too long and it will accelerate slow.
yeah i know its not my car. it is my friends car. i already have a ex. like it says in my sig. but he is going to get a jdm h22 soon. and he just got some new tires. and he is waiting on his brother to put the order in. He works a Titan.
yeah...I did a mini-me...and didn't pull the oil jet...heres what happened...(note this is a 2300 lb 4 door)

(Yes, I know I'm a shitty drag racer, i'm workin on it)
Point is, I ran almost half a second slower with the non-working mini-me than I did with the stock B7...

Maybe you cant drive....Motors put together fine runs mint.So they didnt pull the oil plug thingy. No one researched it or really cared had to get the car running to sell.

Gotta love the D-series...
Seriously though, I think that this might be a driver problem, not an engine problem. That 60 ft time is awful. Get that down to a 2.2 and then if you are running bad times, you have a pretty good idea that it might just be the engine.

i ran a 16.2 in my 99 ex :D i don't have my time slip with me, so i don't remember all that crap. lol but i just had my car lowered on sprint springs and tokico illuminas. i remember i had a bad reaction time, like 1.02? and a 60 ft of 2.3. and i trapped at 85 almost 86mph.
I am running the the same 60' (2.419) in a '92 cx w/d16z6, dead clutch n shitty street tires but pulled a 15.525....i would say its a combo of the motor n the driver
....Got new tires and new ACT clutch n flywheel setup, waiting to go back n see the difference (ran a 15.43 on g-tech, which is suposidly only of by a hundreth of a sec...??)
