Engine sputtering under 2.5k RPM???
very odd problem, in the past few days my engine has been sputtering when I get on the gas under 2500RPM. It sounds like a go cart, but once I get to the 2500 point its fine. This is happening through all the gears. Anyone else experienced the same problem?
its a 93 SI w/ 110k miles

you shouldn't get on it too hard if your low in the rpm band.

I'm not getting HARD on it. I ment from a stop position.
As for the plugs I checked them a week ago and they were all fine??? but I guess I'll take another look at them.
I dont think it would be the plugs since it only happens in a certain RPM range

Mine would sputter from 1K-2500rpms when the plugs were bad.
How long ago did you replace your dizzy cap and rotor?? Inspect them to see if there is any corrosion. What about your plug wires??
I would also get a bottle of injector cleaner and add some of that.
Besides these things...I can't think of anything else right now.

actully this started happening only a few days ago after I added injector cleaner... it was the Lucus kind, dont know if that matters.
The whole distributor was replaced about a year ago when one of the bearings started making noise. The plugs/wires are only a few months old.

Then can you refund the money I spent on Bosch plug wires that lasted 3 DAYS!!??
I am back to using my old ones until I get a new set.
I am out of ideas.

pulled the plugs, they look fine... re gapped them (they were a little off). Cap and Rotor are good. Didn't check the wires but I doubt thats the problem.
So that rules out spark. Think it might be a fuel problem?
Just changed my Main Relay last week, think it might be faulty?

mine did that the other day...and the cel came on. i checked the code and it was code 12, meaning, it was the EGR...i checked it and noticed that the plug to it was slightly disconnected. and it runs fine now.
no CEL light, checked that out... but it seemed to have stopped now? maybe the plugs just needed to be re gapped?
weird...
