Default Over heating problem, how drastic is a coolant leak

Hey whats up everyone. I started to have a serious overheating problem where the car would actually overheat all the way in the red after about 10 minutes in idle!

My coolant seemed low (as that coolant container on the side of the radiator was empty) so I filled it up with about 3/4 of a gallon of coolant. The car seemed all right for about 15 minutes at idle and then started overheating again. I checked my coolant container and it had coolant all over it, leaking from the top and it seemed like the bottom. On the bottom of my car, it looked like 6 oz had spilled out.

Now of course having no coolant or a coolant leak would cause overheating but even after I filled up 3/4 of a gallon, would the car overheat in about 15 minutes in idle? It sure didn't lose more then 8 ozs or so of coolant.

Anyways, I'm pretty worried about my water pump and thermostat. Anyway to check these? And how do you flush your radiator. Thanks (I have a 2nd gen integra by the way)

You didn't mention if the cooling fans would turn on before it overheated. Does the car overheat when it's moving?

So far, it sounds very much like a thermostat problem. You would have to remove the thermostat to test it, but you may as well replace it.
