Anyone had this problem? It happened twice yesterday on my way home after autoX racing. I was driving it hard on 3rd gear and was above 8K rpm then it popped. Killed the motor and had to roll it safely on to the shoulder.

 

happened to my old EF. I replaced the alternator and everything went back to normal after.

edit: also check out the wiring. make sure no wire is exposed and that it is grounded good.
