Rough Idle
I just about a 2001 Honda Accord EX with 16,000 miles on it. It has a rough idle problem! I've taken it to the dealer twice already. The 1st time, the throttle was wiped out. The 2nd time engine off was used to clean up. I've put two fuel system cleaners (Valvoline and Chevorn's Techron). While the problem has decleased considerably, the steering wheel, gear shift, seat all still vibrate. It doesn't happen when cold. I notice it mostly when I get off the highway and am stopped at a red light. Sometimes, my hands still shake when I get out of the car. Anyone have any suggestions? Nothing anecdotal, please. Only people who know what they're talking about.
Is it an erratic idle? Or consistent but you just feel it alot? If it's consistent, then perhaps one or more of your engine and/or transmission mounts have broken or are defective. It would seem unlikely for a 2001 with that low of mileage, but anything is possible. Other than that it'd be hard to say without looking at the car, checking for diagnostic codes, etc. It's under warranty, just take it to the dealer and they should be able to figure it out. Maybe try a different dealer than you took it to the first 2 times.
