Default B18 c5 (Type R)

OK i have a 1992 Honda accord 4dr SE. So i want to know is it possible to drop in a b18c5 which is the type r motor into my accord. If so what do i need to do to the car to make the motor fit and work properly or if i shouldnt even both with this idea. Now i bet everyone is wondering why i am asking this, well ... its because i can get this motor clean and with legit papers for dirt cheap off a good friend of mine that will sell it to me cheap. So i am asking one is it possible and two what will i need to drop it in and also if anyone has seen it done and have pics can u please post it or email it to me at Almightyaccord@aol.com Well thats it

Why bother? Get an H22 which has the same hp as a B18C5 with more torque.

IF you're insistent on it, I'm not sure but you may end up being a pioneer in this swap...

b18c5 doesn't have enough low end to get our fat asses off the line in any amount of time that you would like...not to mention that motor would leave a lot of empty room in the engine bay with all of its 1.8 liters..hehe

just one question isnt the h22 just a bit bigger than a b18, i mean wouldnt you have to do some major work on the mounts to make it all fit right

yes it's bigger, but it fits cause it lines up with the mounts of the accord and in japan accords were sold with H22s in them. the b series motors will not line up easily. also, the B series has less torque than your stock motor.

you can be different a be slower than an h22a accord

I saw a 93 accord with a b18c1 in it once, owner said it ran 15.8 with 2.2 60' times aka slow and not worth the work and money to do the swap

if you are getting the motor for 'dirt cheap'...just sell your 92 accord and get a civic and throw it in there...alot quicker and alot easier to swap

i think he doesnt really care about the ease of this swap, he just wants to do something different and wants to be original. if im not mistaken.

I think if he wanted to be original he would have bought the engine and installed it himself already.

From the sounds of things, I doubt he'll even buy the motor, it seems like he's just testing the waters...

word, if you wanna do something original swap a k24 into your car. you cant go wrong with an h22a though.

a b18c5 will be a total waste of time. if you're getting it cheap, buy it and sell it for it's normal value and look into something with an acceptable amount of torque.

i think the itr swap wouldnt be much faster than the stock f22.. the f22 would pull unreal off the line with hella more tq. the itr would pull once it gets to 8 grand

Yeah, but some things aren't <u>worth</u> the money.

I own an ITR track mule and a '94 Accord that's an occasional H3 Honda Challenge car.

There is no way the ITR motor would be a pleasant drive in the Accord.</TD></TR></TABLE>

especially since the torque of even an H-series kills an ITR and that is what you need to haul such a heavy car around
