Injector Ticking

Well its been about a month since the SIR-II motor went in and its still ticking like a bitch. Its audible when Im driving in any RPM (even moreso since I took out cruise control a couple days ago and now have a hole in the firewall
) and just doesnt sound all that great.
I took the car to a shop and they said it was a "pissed off injector" and I checked valve clearances twice and everything is good. Ive been running 89 ocatane (a little better than the usual shitty 86 wisconsin stuff) and used a bottle of that fuel injector cleaner stuff you put in the tank.
Im just wondering if this injector ticking means one of the cylinders is leaning out or not, cause Ive driven the car hard a few times and dont notice any bad sounds or anything.
what should I do? try and find another set of OBD1 b16 injectors? or wait till I get 450's for the turbo thats comming in a few months?
Thanks guys =D

What does that shop mean "pissed off injector" anyway? I guess it means that they don't know what's wrong or how to fix it. You sure its comin from the injector? Try this, let your motor run then remove the electrical connector from the injector that's ticking, if the car suddenly bogs down and then re-idles itself then you got an injector that works, if nothing happens then that injector is a goner and needs replacin. If you want to know if your motor is running lean then take the spark plug out from the spark plug hole and inspect it. If its white then its runnin lean, brown means clean, black means too rich. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody.
If you ever notice the 89 octane gasoline is set with the same price as the 87 then don't get it unless your willing to get new injectors soon. The reason is becuase the 89 octane gasoline contains more alchol which will slowly eat away your injector seals resulting in a leaking injector. If the price sounded to good to be true then it was.

You want to hear them tick, that means that they are working. If it is abnormally loud, maybe they are needing to be tested and/or cleaned. Perhaps it is vlave tick that you are hearing also!
You should hear my Ford injectors tick.............everyone always saying my valves need adjusting.........idiots.
Yes, I'm using Ford injectors in my D16Z6. That is NOT a typo.

So that's what that is? lol. Ever since my turbo install I noticed that my motor had a little knock that was louder than usual. That's funny. Good info!
