Default should i go with a JDM d15b or d16y8 for my turbo project?

im gonna be starting a d series turbo project and i wanted to know if i should get a JDM d15b or a d16y8??? bottom end will be built with new pistons and rods but are the cranks the same or are they different??? the head is gonna stay stock... so im pretty much asking what head will do me better with built bottom with turbo???

and is the JDM d15 tranny the same as a z6/y8 tranny>???

Hey man..did you get your hatch back yet?? Id personallly go with the y8. I think that the D15 tranny could have a LSD, but other than that, they're the same.

i'd check out the z6. I may be swapping my y8 out for a z6 head. The y8 has higher compression, but the z6 flows way better. If you are getting a turbo then you don't want super high compression anyways.

If you have an EG get a z6 if you have an EK get a y8

Yeah, the wiring is much easier. Go for the y8

If you have an EK the newer D15B with 3 stage vtec would be cool and a fairly straight forward swap. Most people who have D15 swaps have the earlier version with single stage vtec.

i have a ek... prices ive found for a JDM d15 is around 800 shipped with SI tranny... d16z6 is 400 with P&P and 3 angle valve... and d16y8 for 800 picked up... which one would u pick?

how hard would it be to swap the z6 or the JDM d15 into my ek??? i may change over to OBD 1...
