tonight my oil and battery light came on came on for a second tonight. revved out 1st and and second and easly switched into 3rd and my battery and oil light came on for a second and when went off. any one have any ideas the car does have oil in it. the car is obd 0 b18c1 in a crx. any body ever ran in to this problem?

 

its probably warning u that ur alternator is about to go in few days...i never notice which captions went on,but if few captions come on when engine is running,its usualyy the alternator.

 

check you oil level it may be low and the surge in 1st and 2nd gear brought on the light.....battery light indicates the alternator is not charging the battery properly.

Sounds like it's going bad.

 

oil level is good. is there any way other than taking the alternator out to test to see if it is bad?

Then turn on everything you can - lights, fans, defoggers, stereo - with all that extra load it shouldn't drop much. If it's really good it shouldn't drop at all.
