Default My New Toy

I finally bought one. A 2002 Birel CR32 Motorsport Chassis with a 1999 Boysen Honda CR125 motor. I was finally able to test drive it today at AllSport GP in DC. The acceleration is just incredible. I've never experienced anything so powerful before. Hands down, it's the fastest thing I've ever been in.

This will be a great tool for myself as a driver and hope to go wheel-to-wheel racing with this thing in the future.

If you have any questions just ask away.

AJ

Nice. Very nice.

I wont call you a lucky bastard...you probably worked very hard to get that sweet cart.

Whats the price tag on a cart like that? Just curious becuase we have a place in town that sells them but I live in a pretty small town so I dont know if the prices are jacked up in this part of the country.

I paid $4200 for the kart and spares. I only then needed to buy the safety gear (suit, rib protector, gloves, shoes, etc.). I spent a little over $500 for everything at OG Racing in Manassas. Great place.

How well would it hold up in a collision with, say... A flowerbox?

Nice kart AJ! Congrats. Are you going to try AutoXing it too?

Do you realize how much better a place this world would be if everyone commuted to/from work in one of these?

Aahj,
Elgorey and I were checking out the Woodbridge Kart Club and we asked if we were allowed to practice with our karts at Allsports and they said is invitation only (as in we had to get an invite from the WKC shifter guys). What deal did you work out with All Sports? We were thinking about getting a Rotax or shifter to practice on.

Ahh, I always try to tell people what the accelaration is like in these karts and I just can't put it into words. My buddy has a 125cc Gold(I think?)shifter kart, damn thing hauls.

What's the difference between quick and fast?

AJ's cart is quick. Almost any street car is faster.

Almost any street car is faster than a 125 cc shifter? I don't think so...

The most effective way I've found to articulate the sensation shifter kart acceleration is "neck-breaking"...almost literally, every freaking time you shift up. My head felt like it was going to fly off.
