Default Running a LS ecu with a vtec setup?

Is anyone here using a ls or non-vtec ecu to run a vtec setup? I currently have a ls swap but going to build a ls/vtec setup during the winter break. I'm going to use a vafc for tuning. Would the only difference be timing? I could use the vafc to control the fuel and the vtec x-over. What are the stock timing maps like for the ls ecu and the b16 ecu?

The VAFC won't be able to activate vtec will it?

Oh, I did not know this.

In that case I think you are on the right track.

You can get chipped P28's for practically nothing these days.

i remember somebody postin up on how to turn a non vtec ecu into a vtec ecu....you have to change a few things but it shouldnt be to difficult.. and instead of the vafc i would almost just get a good chipped ecu...

I'm going to run a 75shot, and most chips advance the timing. I've heard of someone that was able to convert a non-vtec OBD ecu into a vtec one. That might be a good option.
