Default I need headroom in my 2k Civic EX

Ahh, I am 6'6" very tall... But I love my civic...

Is there a way to gain more headroom in the 2000 Civic EX 2dr model? - like making new brackets, or switching seats?

I have heard Del Sol seats work, and same with Integra Type R seats.. Will these work? And how much room could I expect to gain with these?

If not, What would be the best aftermarket seat to use to gain headroom and still have recline ability?

Thank you for what ever info you can give me.

Thanks

Do you know if they just bolt in? as in, do I just put them on the stock rails and they sit lower? or do I need the seat and rails and brackets for it to fit?

Del sol seats will drop I would say 2-3 inches from the normal Stock civic seats.. I believe ITR seats do not sit as low as del sol seats..good investment and can easily pick some up for 180+ good luck

2-3 inches, that would be godly, hrm now how to mount them, I heard they do not have tilt funcion on the bottom cushion, perhaps I can mount the front higher, or are they already leaned up in front? (it helps the legroom)

In either case, I will keep all of you posted on what I find, and thanks for all the replies!

but still keep em coming hehe this should be a whole topic, perminantly, cause Hondas should be made for everyone hehe, especially tall people! hehe

i have had stock si's del sols and USDM type r's the Del Sols are the lowest out of all them the USDM type r's are a little bit higher and the JDM Recaros sit a little bit higher than them since you that tall i would recommend del sols or type R's del sols for the cost. i am getting JDM Recaros but i am only 5'11

i say del sol seats as also. Not only do they sit low, I think they are pretty comfortable as well.

You probably dont have the sunroof, and the 4door had more headroom than 2 door,

Anyways here is the scoop, I guess you can keep everything from rails down in place and just install the Del sol seats, and he was very enthusiastic about how much more headroom and comfort he gained.

Ok, so where does the stock 96-00 Civic seat fit into this picture. Are all of the above mentioned seats lower than stock or are some of the seats mentioned above higher than stock?

The stock civic seat is not in the picture, because stock civic seats are garbage.

ive heard that seats from a 2000+ toyota celica GT will sit about 4-5 inches lower than stock seats. i have no idea how to install them, but i have seen them in civics before.

I don't care if the stock seats suck or not, but I need a means for comparison. Where does the stock Civic seat fit in in terms of height?

A) Del Sol < USDM ITR < JDM Recaro (w/ OEM CTR rails) < Stock 96-00 Civic

-OR-

B) Del Sol < USDM ITR < Stock 96-00 Civic < JDM Recaro (w/ OEM CTR rails)

So is it A or B? I read in the ITR forums that the JDM Recaro sits higher than the stock ITR seats, and I read in EG+ Civic forums that the JDM ITR seats sit lower than stock. So I'm basically wondering if the JDM Recaros (w/ OEM CTR rails) sit lower or if the stock 96-00 Civic seats sit lower.

The stock Civic seats will not work with JDM Recaros. You will need to use the CTR Recaro rails if you have a 96-00 Civic or you can get these:

del sol seats will definitely sit lower,..my sure as hell does and i love em,..the civic rails swap over with any modfication

as for the celica seat post,...im in the process of looking for some celica seats,..its a toss up between the celica seats and S2k seats,..which ever i find first i will do,..welding the rails to those is what i think will be required

Thanks for all the help guys, I am sure lots of people will find this all useful, I will keep you posted as to exactly how I install these, when I do, and I will try to measure how much room is gained, and how the legroom is affected if any by being lower.
