This is probably a stupid question but what is an air breather? Like where does it hook 2?

it replaces the little hose goin from the valve cover to the intake, its just for show.

It replaces the hose that would normally go from the valvecover to the intake tube... the reason for removing it is because people are scared oil from the VC will be sucked into the intake... this is sort of a mis-nomer as the only oily air that goes into your intake goes past the pcv directly into the intake manifold...

Depending on the state you live in it can also be illegal to put a breather on the VC as they do not want oily fumes being vented to the atmosphere...

The only legal and reliable means of fixing the problem is the use of 1-2 oil catch cans inline between the pcv and the intake and some put one between the VC and the intake tube... however again... from the factory this is designed to be an air INLET for the VC not a vent... If you're that nervous about it you could also put a pcv valve inline between the intake tube and the VC so that the air can only flow one way for sure... but as stated it's designed to flow fresh air out of the intake tube into the VC not dirty air from the VC into the intake tube... (however under negative load it is possible for it to do so).
