Call to grid for H-C...what song would you like to hear?
Chris and I have been tossing around the idea of having a song for each race group that is played over the speakers when that group is called to grid for their race for NASA-VA. The same song would be played each race weekend so you would know your cue to go to grid.
What would be an appropriate song for H-C/Small Bore?
I like "Going the Distance" by Cake but I know you have more ideas!
If you have any ideas for the Big Bore or Legends groups, I'd love to hear 'em too!

(P.S. Registration for NASA-VA at Summit Point in November now has a waiting list for HPDE 1 and HPDE 2 but there are still a few spots for HPDE 3. Racers and HPDE must register by Oct 24 to avoid late fee!)

How about "Little Honda"? So what if it refers to motorcycles...
I have it on a 45 if you need it (Wasn't "Dead Man's Curve" on the flip side?)
Great idea, BTW!

The Louisville Motor Speedway plays "Eye of the Tiger" for one of their lead series, it is horribly dated and laughable.
Anyone remember "Master of Going Faster", George Harrison's tribute to F1 driver Ronnie Peterson? I guess late '70s is more dated than early '80s.

"Ride of the Valkyries" by Richard Wagner.
You might not recognize the title, but you'd know the song immediately if you heard it.

Little Honda

I'm gonna wake you up early 'cause I'm gonna take a ride with you
We're going down to the Honda shop, I'll tell you what we're gonna do
Put on a ragged sweatshirt, I'll take you anywhere you want me to
First gear (Honda Honda go faster faster), it's alright
Second gear (Honda Honda go faster faster), a-lean right
Third gear (Honda Honda go faster faster), hang on tight
Faster, it's alright
It's not a big motorcycle, just a groovy little motor bike
It's more fun than a barrel of monkeys, that two wheel bike
We'll ride on out of the town to any place I know you like
It climbs the hills like a matchless 'cause my Honda's built really light
When I go into the turns, lean with me and hang on tight
I better turn on the lights so I can ride my Honda tonight.

Thats the tune on my Cel Phone... Some may remember it from the movie "Apocalypse Now" "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning" Or should that be " I love the smell of 100 Octane in the morning"?

Nice suggestion, and powerful at that.
Jason-
who's always amazed when somebody busts out classical knowledge, but must admit he's not a huge fan of Vahgner, I mean Wagner

Not an HC'er, but I have to agree with Red Barchetta. I'd say that's more of a driving song than most of the others, whether or not they're about cars.
