How to tell which valve stem seals are bad?
So I'm pulling the head off a B16 in my garage to change the head gasket. And while I'm there, I want/need to check the valve stem seals. I used to have my brother do so, but I live on the other side of the state.
The engine used to puff a little smoke at high revs when you got off the throttle- engine braking if you'd like.
Compression was perfect, so I'm leaning towards valve stem seals.
What is the best way to check these with the head off. I might just change them all for peace of mind, but if I can narrow it down easy, that would be nice.
Thanks
