I want to drive VIR really bad, it looks really cool. But from Cincinnati it is nearly a "you can't get there from here" proposition for a weekend. Mapquest shows 512 miles and a large part of it being West Virginia mountains. Sounds like a 4 day weekend and a huge gas budget for the V10 Dodge. Gotta do some time though.

I saw you on as you were leaving in the black hatchback. I was out taking pics from various spectator and not-so-spectator areas.

FUQ! Was this the ST classes or a re-air of the DP/GTS?

Was this Saturday's race with the GS and ST classes? If so, will it re-air?

It was ST and GT. Dunno if it'll re-air, I'd check the website. http://www.speedtv.com.

Lee, you should come down. I live an hour south of the track and you're welcome to stay at the house as some of us from around here too. The track is amazing, unlike any other place I've been to. Think "a park that happens to have a really kickass racetrack in it" and you've got the idea.

FUQ! I really wanted to see it and I don't think there will be a rebroadcast. (At least the search on Speed's site doesn't come up with anything other then the next race at Daytona.)

I only saw the DP/GTS junk they showed last week.

Damnit, I'm pissed I missed as well... I need more forewarning on these things so that I can coordinate a place to watch it since Speed TV isn't offered in my apt building...

Me too! Comcast needs to hurry up and come out with the HD PVR box already. I need one bad. I am so used to the programming on Speed being 99% crap that I never check the schedule to find that 1% I want to watch. We need an Official what to watch on Speed thread.

Karl is right. VIR is about the only thing that he has touched that isn't currently busted.

Other places that I've been that are almost as nice as VIR but not quite. :-)

-Le Circuit Mont Tremblant - great surface, beautiful setting, awesome location, pretty good track layout, 50/50 on facilities (new timing tower is awesome, everything else, not so much).

- Barber Motorsport Park (near Birmingham, AL) - Increidble facilities, think Disney Land with a race track. Fun track layout, but VERY busy. I mean VIR North without the front straight busy. No real cool high speed stuff like 1-2-3 at Tremblant, 2 & 4 at Mosport, uphill esses & southbend at VIR.

If you've been to either of those tracks and like them, you will LOVE VIR. It's that good. Really.

-Matt
