im sure ill be onee of the few to say that a light flywheel has no place in a drag car. it made my car considerably more difficult to launch. i have no idea, tho, if it actually reduced my times becasue it was installed with the engine

My setup is ACT HDSS + ACT 8.8lb flywheel... increased my 1320 about .2 over the stock clutch/flywheel setup. I love it, my favorite thing I've done to my car.

I would think that having a lighter flywheel will get you up in the RPM's faster, where most honda 4 cylinder engines shine. throw in a shorter final drive maybe?! I dunno....

i personally dont like a really light flywheel. i had a gsr motor with skunk intake, stage 3 cams, mugen headers, and a 6.6 lbs flywheel. dynoed at 180hp and only 113lbs....the problem with the light flywheels is the motor falls off when you shift. with a stock flywheel the motor keeps spinning up high cause you have weight to keep it going. i had to launch that set up at like 9k so the car wouldnt fall on its face.

i had the clutchmasters flywheel which i believe was around 8 or 9 pounds...not super light, but light enough for me to notice the difference between a stock flywheel, regarding revs...it felt like my car was burning through the gears like a streetbike

I just had the ACT 12.5 pound flywheel installed and I like it a lot. I have a GSR with the intake, header, exhaust and no cat. Definetly gets you into Vtec a little quicker.
Also shifts smoother.
