with 24.5" tall tires and the h22 trans i cannot go through the traps in fourth. with the h23 trans i can. my et's did not change at all changing transmissions but i did gain some mph. getting a h series trans into fifth gear sucks.

Hopefully someone can lay some info on me. I heard that the only difference between the 22 and 23 is 5th gear true? I was also wondering if anyone knows if the diff uses needle or ball bearings? thanks-pdang

same final drive, same first gear, the h22 has closer ratio gears. i will look tomorrow and let you know about the bearings.

The diff uses ball bearings.

IMHO, a good setup for a high HP turbo car would be the f22 trans w/ h22/23 final drive and spooled/locked.

thats just me though.

i run an all motor F22 in my 91 Accord w/ a 93 h22 trans. 22" slicks im shifting into 5th 150ft. before the finish line. also, im only spinning to 6800rpm.

an f22 has a 4.06 final drive. the h22/h23 has a 4.26 final.

How's the LSD in the JDM H22 tranny? Is it fairly strong? I haven't heard much about them. M2B4 I think is the code...

For taller slicks like 26", the H22 would probably be better to go with.
