Honda Brand Oil?

Just wondering if Honda makes their own motor oil AND MTF? If you don't use honda oil, what do you use and is it synthetic? This is my last oil question...i swear.

They SELL their own motor oil and MTF. The MTF isn't synthetic. They do sell synthetic motor oil.

I use GM Syncrhomesh in the tranny, and either mobil 1 synthetic in the engine, or regular castrol gtx

Yes, they sell Honda oil, but I don't believe Honda makes their own oil. Honda oil filters are made by FRAM and a few other brands, I am not certain on the oil itself, though.

I believe that Honda motor oil is Mobil.

Yup, Honda Oil is made by Exxon Mobil. However, from what I've read Honda Oil did poorly in tests when compared to other oils. Go with Mobil 1 oil (different than Honda Oil), its a good oil that can be bought cheap at Walmart in 5qt jugs.

is there more then one kind of gm synchromesh or just one kind i have heard very good things about it and plan on getting some

in brunei,honda oil is made by Idemitsu.

Here in Malaysia our Honda oil is manufactured for Honda by Idemitsu. You can read about it at:

ewww. Mobil 1 oil sucks. Good think my honda dealer does not use that crap. Quakerstate baby. Non synthetic.
