it's pretty straight forward. remove the center console, disengage the bolt, attach adapter, bolt up the cable to the adapter.

i'm not sure what the profile of the DC SS adapter is like, but it may require some cutting around the boot frame to ensure that the adapter doesn't hit it when you shift into 1st, 3rd, or 5th.

I put one in my 4th gen vtec and needed to cut off some of the councel at the top. It would hit 1st, 2nd and 5th just like the last poster stated. You can take a look at the NTPOG site and they have a write-up that you can follow.
You can even cut the shift stick for a shorter throw.

i have one on my 5th gen and it was very easy and straight foward. No cutting was required.

Have to cut the console in order for it not to hit it, someone mentioned a web site NTPOG, just go to it and look at the write up should answer all you questions.

STOP!!!!! Do not remove it from the package! Return it and wait for a true short shifter to come out for the 5th gen. I had the DC SS adapter, and I would have to say that I wasted my money.

I have researched short shifters for the 5th gen a lot, and I have heard nothing but bad things about the DC... Most people said it was ok at first (not great), but it got worse.

I am going to do the NTPOG short shift mod this weekend... check it out, you actually shorten the shifter, and it is almost free!
