Default On the lighter side: How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

I know I am going to get last weeked or pre-black Jesused but here goes:

How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

41 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ...

another 6 to condemn those 6 as ****-retentive

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

27 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ

44 to ask what is a "FAQ"

2 to post reasons why the light bulb burning out is the result of a government conspiracy.

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

43 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs"

1 lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again

you forgot the 1 that will question whether or not the bulb was truly burned out and how that relates to life in general and racing in particular

oh, and the seperate thread that starts with blaming karl for causing the bulb to burn out in the first place

You forgot...

7 to ask what light bulb is best for their socket.

16 to ask Karl if its legal to use a 100 watt bulb (and then argue with him when he says they can't).

1 Certified lighting engineer that gives some free advice.
10 who have never worked a day of their life in lighting to argue with him and tell him he's completely wrong.

But yes, this is still the best forum on the web.

How many watts was the original lightbulb and what would happen if I bumped it up a few watts?

Oops. They're apparently already using 100 watt bulbs on the west coast. This could get ugly.

Anyone with a GCR know which class that 100 watt bulb would put me in?

That would bump you to H1, where all the other hybrids are. Unless, of course, the original light bulb and the new light bulb were listed on the same line in the rule book, then there would be no change.

Funny post, Ken.

Currently I have one of those variable-wattage 50-100-150 bulbs.

Do you think it would be OK with Karl if I promised to only run it at 50 watts?

shouldn't someone have asked by this point just _what_ the lightbulb is going to be used for?? is this for _real_ lighting, or is it one of those blingin x-mas tree bulbs??

LOL

Another 1 to say the light bulb design is flawed and that they could build a better bulb from scraps at Home Depot.

H-T rulez.

Then RR98ITR writes a 20 paragraph post about series vs parallel wiring and the lighting performance benefits - which 99% of us don't end up understanding, but still read anyway.

Then there would the 44 posters that would argue the merits of actually changing the lightbulb, and if changing it was more in the interest of function, or fashion. Then once it's agreed that, yes, indeed, changing the bulb would be functional, there would be a new discussion pertaining to where one could but the "lightest" light bulb, for the least amount of money and gain the most wattage.

Is anyone importing JDM lightbulbs? Are they 4x100 or 4x114.3 and how much lighter are they than USDM ones?

JDM bulbs are bling(k) bling(k) you know.
