Default RSX Head Swap on Si bottom end (info to be had?)

I tried searching for info on this... I know people have done it, I figured it would be a nice 'upgrade' while saving for the DC5-R K20A.

Does anyone have any links to info on this, or experiences to share about this?

How much is involved? Swap the heads, switch ecu's...etc. ?

Would this swap cause any problems to the weaker Si bottom end?

thx for any info.

Finding the head isn't a problem

Knowing if it would be worth it however...is.

Check with Hondata, because I think they can simply reflash your Si's ECU with the RSX-S software + Hondata tune, instead of getting the whole new ECU/Keycode thing.

yeah that can be done if you were thinking of getting hondata...but would run you quite a bit more, if you didn't want the extra rev's that the hondata gives....

it can be done, my friend lee has done it on his already with a tranny swap. he saved ALOT of money since one of his buddys who bought a type-r motor sold him the head for like 500! Its not hard at all. The bottom end can take it too. the type s block just has a few more oil squirts to help with the higher revs, but a good aftermarket oil cooler would take care of the heat as well.

all in all i am doing it as soon as i can find a legit head from a K20A2 and ECU for cheap.
