the welded nutz are a three step attack...there are 4 tack welds for each nut
1. thread old bolt in half way...smack it with a hammer
2. hit nut with chisel/screwdriver
3. drill hole to finish off the last tack weld
works like a charm

Hit the head of the bolt straight on, and use a big hammer

After using the above tactics on one side with only bad results, I took both LCA's all the way off and cut the tack welds with a dremel tool from the inside using a cutoff wheel and very steady hands. Then they practically fell off. Then I sanded any remaining weld off so the plates would sit perfectly flush.
