I have a weird tranny grind in my LS tranny. It has stock clutch/flywheel/diff and full of honda mtf. When I shift into second, no higher than 4000 rpms, it will occasionaly grind. It does it more shifting mid turn. It's only grinded above 4000rpms once or twice in the 10k I've been using it and that was probably my fault.

Anybody have any insight? It's just annoying and I've never heard of this before. . .

 

sounds like the 2nd gear synchro is startin to go...try some gm synchromesh tranny fluid, it helps w/ little problems such as yours

Think it could be the synchro? I'm taking this motor out sometime this winter, so I'll wait til my next oil change and put some fresh honda MTF in, that gm stuff is mucho dinero.

 

Try using GM syncromesh Friction modified, I know its a few more $'s then honda MFT but it's well worth it, it made my 3rd gear grind go away, not to mention makes my shifter feel like butter
Make sure you get the friction modified stuff not the reagular stuff Square bottle not the round one...
