5th gen bumper "damper". In front of the hood latch. WTF is it.
And why is it so heavy?
If you don't know wtf I'm talking about, pop the hood, and look at the back of the bumper support in front of the hood latch.
Its, big, black, round, and is about 10 inches long.

Saw that just the other day. My best guess would be it has something to do with safety for example in a front end collision the roller would allow the engine to move out of the engine compartment therefore keeping it out of the drivers lap. I don't know just a guess

really, thats awesome, I would love to hear some more info on what this is, and whats its benefits, if it has anything thats needed in a wreck, I Dont want to remove, but otherwise thats great. The damn ludes so heavy, im down to try anything less of stripping the interior.
seriously, I think that's the only thing it's for. Its a decently heavy metal rod, mounted to a bracket on either side with rubber.... IIRC it's 4 10 mils and it's out
