What are your goals for this car??
race/show/daily driver/weekend racer/just a car
If we know what you are after, it will be easier to respond, after all this is the net, and some things can come from left feild if you don't narrow it down

like dragIIcivic said, get the one you like. but your askin our opinions so...
i prefer the hatchbacks of any of the generations. i'm not too fond of the coupes and sedans of any of the years.....

Fth gen hatch all the way RoadWarrior. In my opinion hatchbacks are just way more fun to mod and ride, but thats just me. Do what ya feel!!
I like my 6th generation hatch, but I miss some of the luxury items on the 5th gen hatch. No sunroof, power door, windows, but hey I'm already at stage 1 weight reduction
IMO hatches like the civic, focus ZX3 are ugly as hell. I don't know, there's just something about them that reminds me of a station waggon... Now what I think of as a REAL hatchback is something like the 84-89 300ZX or the RX-7 or something like that, it looks good. Just my personal opinion so don't flame me.
5th gen HB or 6th gen HB ....
5th gen is lighter a bit ....
both car have TONS of aftermarket support anyways ...
so cant go wrong with either one .....
well .. depends on what could u find in 2nd hand market though ..
if u see a 6th gen cheaper then a 5 th gen ... get the 6th gen then .. ( just a example.... if it is reli cheaper .. better check the 6th gen)

IMO, the Civic hatchback is a much more practical design. It's also slightly lighter and the design helps reinforce chassis stiffness a little bit.
And it's fun to watch the coupe drivers try to fit their race wheels in the back seat....

as far as weight goes, comparing 6th gen DX hatch vs. DX coupe...the hatch is all of 46lbs lighter, which you can make up for by taking out the spare and getting your college textbooks out of the back seat. (hell, just remove the whole damn back seat!).
reinforcing the chassis is simple enough...
coupe drivers trying to fit their race wheels in the back seat? what's wrong with the trunk? also remember that the back seat of the coupes can be folded over, expanding the trunk. not a problem.
To me, the coupe just has an agressiveness to its look that the hatch doesn't have. Of course I'm not saying it looks like a prelude or a ferrari or anything, but it has something about the styling that the hatch lacks... IMHO, of course...

depending on the mileage, I would say between 15K and 17K, but I came to those numbers relative to the cost of my EX, I have no hard figures. It's more of a gut feeling...
I've seen a couple around here between 6 & 8 grand (belive it or not), high mileage tho about 70 to 80 thou. I say go for as much mileage as possible to better the price. Besides if your planning on doing any engine mods mileage really won't matter i.e. engine swap. Check out http://WWW.AUTOTRADER.COM, just to see whats out there.

How much do you think a 6th Gen Civic Si, will go for??

Yeah, modding it ta hell and back or even a little preventative maintenance would cancel out all that mileage, i don't know about swapping out that Si engine tho.
