Strut question -- lowering my car
Will kyb gr-2 struts hold up with a 2.5inch drop?
I bought some drop springs (haven't installed yet) and I don't want to install them until i replace my already busted oem struts...
I found a person willing to sell me all four kyb gr-2 struts brand new for around $180... I don't want to buy them though if they won't handle the drop for any longer than oem..
Also, where is a good place to get a front camber kit for my car?
Its a 1990 civic std.
I have found tons on ebay but i am curious as to whether or not they are the right parts.. some have the wrong model years listed, some look identical to ingalls but im just not sure..
any help would be awesome

They'll hold up longer than OEM, but it all depends on what kind of rates you'll be running them on. What springs are we talking about?
There are a few people on here with Eibach Sportlines (close to 2" drop but soft rates) that are running GR2's and they all say they're holding up great. However, if I tried to run them with some H&R Race springs (much stiffer than Sportlines but about the same drop) they'd be dead really quick.
I would probably go for something nicer, but like I said, it all depends on how stiff the springs are.

I have been told they will hold up fine if you do not drop the car more than 1.5" by a guy who has installs KYB GR2's often and he has never had anyone come back with a problem. I also read KYB's warranty and the warranty is void if your suspension drop exceeds 1.5". Hope this helps!

Blues are basically just one step higher than Honda OEM struts. They aren't really going to hold a candle to the Koni Yellows... Now Tokico Illuminas on the other hand, they seem pretty decent.

Yup. Couldn't have said it better myself.
I picked the Illuminas for the rear of my CRX since they're a pretty good shock, though not quite as good as yellows.

I had gc's on my 90 si, 350lb up front and 250lb in the rear, lowered about 1.5inch
stock = junk, sloppy and sometimes i "fly"
blues = found them in the street, and now i know why... they are also junk, I blew a driveside shock in less than 6months.
now I have illuminas in the front and blues in the rear, they ride alot better, no more "flying" and alot less slop, ie car is not bouncing anyomore after a bump. the car rides alot better and I have them at full stiff, and I love them, I reccomend these as the bare minimum that someone should get if they want a pretty decent ride. or agx's at least...
