Default GSR rods in LS block

I'm going to start a new project, and just for fun I wanted to tinker with configuring the motor differently. I really don't want to use the GSR crank in the LS block, but can I use the rods? I'm thinking that they are a bit shorter, which would help to slow the pistons down a tad. Not too sure on this though. Anyone have any input?

GS-R rods are longer. Higher R/S ratio means slower piston speeds.

The pistons will stick out a little. How much depends on the compression height of the pistons.

Not to mention GSR rods have smaller big ends.

LOL

It's an oxymoron...like jumbo shrimp! Kewl!

Yes I am switching to decaf.

GSR rods can't be used on a LS crank.

You got to get new custom pistons and custom con rod made. if you want to use the GSR rod, you got to bore it to ths size of the LS journal.

so then, obviously, I'd have to run the GSR crank with rods to get that to work... hmmm... still pondering the effects

that would be a gsr stroke, with gsr rods in a LS block. not really sure what you are looking to do, but that is probaly not it, you would reduce your displacement slightly from 1834cc to 1797cc.

there is a reason for the de-stroke. I want to be able to maintain revolutions in the 8-9k range for sustended periods of time. I'm thinking that the GSR crank/rods would be a bit safer than the LS for this very function. I'm only looking to get about 250-275whp from the motor, which should be easy to do...

Journal size is the same. Big end with is different.
