Default Throttle Body?

I was at a local shop last week, and they had a Skunk2 throttle body over there for a Type-R. Would there even be a point in getting anything like this? I thought that the one on the R was all hand-polished and what not by the two best guys at Honda Japan or something. Any reason to consider this thing?

The throttle body is not hand ported or anything. Mild porting of the TB on a stock motor will improve throttle response. A&J Racing does a really nice job on OEM TB's. Gives you a couple whp.

Oversize TB's on stock motors will degrade throttle response. Likely will create bogging problems.

Actually I've always found bigger TB's to improve throttle response but if you go too big you can confuse the stock ECU.

Try ERICK's TB from Torrance, Cali. 5-6 HP to the wheels.

ON MY MOTOR!!!!!!! I dynoed a Spoon Throttle body and got 0 hp 0 torque. The throttle body is an OEM ITR with the mouth opened up to 70mm. The plate/butterfly is the same size as stock. I made a couple of baselines with the stock T.B. swapped the Spoon in, (about 20 minutes) and reran. The plots were laid over each other and there was no visible difference. So for me . It might have yieled better results with cams? My mods are listed under my bio if you click on my name.

Later Mattj

yeah..im sorry to here that dropspeed..i made 2whp pretty much across the board with mine..its a flawless design..i dont see how you could of not gained power..just a stock tbody with a velocity stack..whereas the over bored tbody might hurt your low end torque on a stock r motor
