Hi, just as the title says... i'm looking for which will give me the best grip...
the 225/40/14, or the 205/60/14

i know the 225 is wider and more contact patch but the 205 has the bigger sidewall and don't the bfg's have a soft wall(crinkle) which would also be an advantage?

help me out its for an EF hatch ls/vtec all motor going for 12's on slicks but would like to do em on drag radials also...

any help would be great thanks

 

so you're looking for a drag recommendation? If you're using DOT tyres I would think the footprint between the 205and 225 would be a sligh bit negligable for you. I'm not a drag racer so all I can comment on is footprint which is roughly .35" wider, if I remember right. Seems you are more concerned about the sidewalls here so I'd go with a larger sidewall profile over the actual size of the footprint. HTH

according to you the 205 have a bigger side wall... so then yes

 

They aren't wrinkle walls, they are just drag radials. I don't think the sidewall will matter much. If you can fit the 225s, I would go with those. I have the BFG g-Force 205s, and I can take a pic of them if you want to see the sidewall.

pic would be nice... i was informed that the sidwall does crinkle not completely like a slick but like it...

the 225/40/14's side wall is 40% of the width of the tire (225)
205/60/14's side wall is 60% of the width of the tire (205)

 

Yeah, I will see if I still have pics of them on my comp when I get home, or I can take some new pics.
