Default no oil pressure! oil light on!

My oil light is still on. I just replaced my gsr oil pump with a type-r one. I cleaned my oil pickup and my oil pan is free of dents. There is no v-tec so its obvious its the oil pressure. Im not losing oil either, the oil level is fine. If my vtec isnt hitting wouldnt I throw a cel code 22? Im just wandering what else in the engine has to do with oil pressure? Any help is appreciated.

Did you change your oil pressure sending unit?

Well if I take of the connection then the oil light will turn off, so should my vtec work now? I thought the oil pressure sending unit was a connection of its own, not related to the ecu.

its separate.... did you prime the pump before installation if so then put a temporary manual oil pressure guage to verify oil pressure if you have pressure then sender is bad

I thought for sure that the ecu used that same sending unit as the light? Hmmm. Learn something new every day.

I think your oil sensor might have been shot. I was driving one day and my oil light turned on, I was so scared, but it turns out that the oil sensor went bad. I didn't even bother to replace it since I had a separate oil gauge.
