i remember way back when i first became a member i was reading about some guys that put gas shocks to open there hoods was wondering if anyone has done this recentaly??

my hood latch cable broke were the plastic clip sticks in the latch so im putting a hood popper on it soon .. thought it might be nice to have the shocks to complement it .. so when i pop the hood, it automaticaly opens all the way up

 

I took out the metal clips in the hood pivot points ( can't remember what they are called) so my hood opens straight up.

More useful to me the haveing gas shocks..

 

that wouldnt be what im trying to do .. my hood is kinda gettofided right now with ducktape around the hood latch on thats attatched to the radiator support. so i just want to add the popper to the cable connected to either a switch or my alarm .. and add the shocks to raise the hood up when i pop it .. but i cant find any real info on the shocks i dont really wanna test fit 400 different size shocks if someone else has done this, you know.. should be pretty sweet when its done

not the popper but hood shocks would be cool

 

I mesed around with this idea before too, but the shock towers come up all the way to the bottomside of the hood when it is closed. I didn't give it a bunch of effort, but I didn't see it an easy thing to do...
