Default About Z10 girdles?

for my LS block should I just buy the GSR girdle or pay a little extra and get the shotpeened one? I hope I am correct on the GSR part, since alot of people use GSR oem girdles on there LS/vtec applications.

thanks
Justin

you dont need one, but if your really inclined to get one then just get a Endyn one. The GSR stock girdles are hard to find, plus youll have to machine them to fit a B18A/B/B20. Plus the Endyn one is stronger and looks better.

Youll also need a GSR Oil Pan, Oil Pick Up, Windage Tray and Main Cap Bolts if you still wanna do this mod.

I ran the Z-10 girdle, but the Endyne wasn't available when i purchased. I belive that the endyne is cheaper. I also like the idea of the Endyne but i have no real exp. with it. iiii u

I do know that if you decide on using a girdle no matter which your gonna wanna send it to the machine shop when you send your block or you'll assemble a motor that wont like to turn over on the bench heh.

Oh, i also agree the z-10 def looks pretty.

Endyn's is a copy of Z10's. IF you goto there website and view there Engine Build up write up
they have a Z10 girdle in there motor. And now they make there own
which looks almost 100% Identical. Both are good pieces and much stronger then
stock.

So what are the actual advantages of using the 5 point griddle vs a stock one. I am going to build a very hight reving engine and I was just wondering if it is worth it to put the 5 point griddle. I will be doing a lot of track road racing with the engine.

If you dont install dowel pins and align hone the main bores then you are just wasting your money.

When you pin the girdle to the main caps, the main bores will usually come out of alignment.
So you will need to align hone them to make them straight and round again.

-insert lame honda-tech search **** reference here-

google is your friend

http://www.webrodder.com/articles/246/WR0023B.pdf

basically by adding the girdle your chaning the main caps. you bolt caps and girdle down ant tq em and measure the diameter.
