This is for all of you guys that ride without gear. Hopefully this will make you think twice about wearing the proper gear no matter how short the ride is or how hot it is.... http://www.cmyoung.com/bikewreck.html

i was lookin into gettin a bike.. but before i did that i looked into gear..

i used to live in so cal.. i cant understand the guys riding in beater and shorts.. they must have armor plated skin...

then i saw a guy in NOVA after accident on beltway.. he will not be getting up

i think im giving up the idea of riding.. i am not willing to take that much of a risk for now.. expecially with stupid drivers they got on the east coast

all i have to do is ask my brother to lift his shirt and remeber what his outfit looked like after he too a spill in 92 on his gsx750r. i think he said he was doing like 70 with a few friends and lost contorl of his front and went down. he has a 02 gsx750r and wears a biker coat (not leaterh but that mesh type coat) but still wears jeans when ridding.

first thing i did when i got my bike was get a good jacket to wear at the least.....

the DAY AFTER i got my bike i layed it down doing about 35-40mph..... i didnt lean enough into a left turn and went off the road.... i saw it coming and panicked basically, but i went down in the grass

at the time, i didn't have real gear, i was just wearing a jacket and jeans, and a helmet of course, no gloves..... hit the ground, rolled a few times, and got ONE little scrape on my hand, nothing else. i picked the bike up and took it home, didn't ride again till i got gloves and a real riding jacket

When i was little i grew up around bikes. My mother never let me ride but both my older brothers and my Aunt had bikes. I saw so many wrecks from them and their friends. I still want a bike to this day, and sites like this help me keep things in prospective.

I still dont know how to ride Sam. I know the gearing but never have stepped onto a bike and rode it. Willing to lend me your POS?

Im always in full gear just because you never know, and I've been in a crash. But on the other hand, I feel its up to the person if they do not want to wear gear, including not wearing a helmet. I dont think its smart, but its their choice.

My comment is a little off topic, but just wanted to say. Ride safe

good post. its always fasionable to live. i dont understand people who cant take the time to buy good gear.

i know 1 rider who spent 10,000$ on his bike 500$ on exhasut and 2000$ on new wheels but cant buy a helmet or gloves cause the helmet mess's up his hair.

Good gear is great and an absolute neccessity, but even the best gear can fail. here's to being a safe rider in general.
