Default Any heads up for changing the timing belt on a 94 Legend V6?

Me and the "old man" want to change out the timing belt on the Legend, can anyone give me a heads up on any unseen issues?

get a mechanic to do it, it takes special tools...

you have to have a timing belt adjustment tool...and some other stuff...ill get back to you on what all it takes.

Patience, lots of patience
If you are not a competent wrench, not advisable to try. The water pump is tricky to replace, and will leak if you are not very, very, very careful.
You will need a crank pulley holder to break the 19mm nut loose and re-torque to 182 ft-lbs when done.

Thanks for the replys guys.

We have the crank pulley holder (chain on a stick).
Also the special tool to remove the bolt.

I thought that the timing belt tensioner would just need to be replaced as far as the timing belt "adjuster" goes.

you are going to need some crazy cheater bars to get the crank pulley off. I think you would be better off just taking it to get it done somewhere. This is one of those things you dont want messing up, and until you have something like a Helms manual and an array of tools, I would not do major stuff like this yourself.

hmm this project was pretty easy for me....

-BUy a helms or chilton manual
-700lb impact wrentch
-various sockets

I dunno about all those other "special tools"

spend the $400 to get the parts and the impact wrentch and save yourself some money and gain a ton of knowledge. I'm here if u need some help figuring something out.
