Default JimFab vs Z10

I'm thinking about buying a set of radius arms so I don't have to hack the crap outta my cross member when I put a header in. I was planning to go with the Z10 ones, but someone mentioned JimFab in another one of my threads. Which is a better buy for price?

JimFab is the better buy. Better design, better price.

why are they so hard to find used? Don't people buy them to put their headers in? Does anyone know a good place to pick them up? I'll also probably get an bushing kit as well.

because they haven't been around very long and the people that buy them probably keep them.

Is anyone running a Z-10 or JIMFAB in an EF/B16a with Comptech (or Hytech) Race header using HASPORT mounts?

Are you implying the Jim Fab ones wont allow my Type R header to fit by? Unfortunately I'll be using custom mounts, which sort of complicates things, but I'd rather not cut my subframe at all, since that can't help suspension dynamics and sixty foot times. A friend of mine actually snapped his crossmember! Is this going to provide and complication issues with my camber kit or coilovers? I don't forsee any, but hey!
Rob, why is your cross member over $100 more?

I'm thinking I'll go with the Jim Fab. Is the machinist who makes them on this board? Are their any dealers who sell them?

This is not to become a pissing match just compare both designs.
Give us a call. We are in the office from 8am EST to 6pm EST
Monday - Friday and I will explain the details and im sure we can
work something out. Just so you know we have never had fitment
issues with our twin tube cnc pocketed design. Also Ours dont require
any cutting or modifying. Remember " In the price comes customer support
and how readily available. Ours is always just a phone call away all day all week long.

what about DarkStar (or W/E) bars. They seem to be a copy of the JimFab bars, but I'd prefer the original.

I trust my son's life in our race car to the JimFab bar. If it were to break, car would instantly be out of control at 150+ mph.
Jim's bar is quality/strength second to none.

Take it from a/the? designer of the Z10 bar himself, Geoff who is now with full-race design. He says that the Z10 bar, which he designed, is inferior to the Jimfab because the geometry of the bar causes suspension binding (I believe towards extension) Here is a diagram posted by FFGeoff which should explain everything.

The pivot of the radius rod should be located on the axis of the LCA rotation. This is not the case with the Z10 bar. There have been a few reported cases of bushing damage because of this.

To clarify this is for 92+ Civics and 94+ Integras. As for the EF, both are good designs, although the Jimfab weighs less.

I should point out that I am in no way affiliated with FFGeoff, full-race, or JimFab. I am also a former owner of Z10 radius rods. I sold them to meet race class rules but around the same I learned of this.

On a side note, I ordered motor mounts from Jimfab and he is a great guy, and I have no doubts about his customer service.
